Help Server for AX 2012 error

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport

I have installed Help Server for AX 2012, but when I press F1 for testing purposes, all I get is "Unable to contact the server http://servername/DynamicsAX6HelpServer/helpservice.svc"

When I paste the URL in browser I get "Unexpected error occured"

From the event viewer I can see that "The service '/DynamicsAX6HelpServer/HelpService.svc' does not exist."

I've tried to run IIS in 32 and 64 bit modes without a luck.

I have found a similar case by browsing the internet, but without an answer.

Anyone?

Try to locate "DynamicsAX6HelpServer" in IIS Manager and check the URL there. If it's different from what's called from AX, update the URL in AX > System administration > Setup > System > Help system parameters.

    Hi Migi,

The solution you need is here:

    Hi,

I checked both suggestions - without a luck.

URL is the same in IIS-server and solutions provided in a blog were all different cases than mine. So I'm still stuck with this one.

So if you open the URL (defined in IIS) in browser, you get nothing but "Unexpected error occured"? No HTTP error code? Nothing in EventLog?

No HTTP code....this is the message in whole

in Event log there's en error too:

OK, so it seems that WCF service activation can't find the service.

Unfortunately I can't say where the problem lies. Maybe in server name translation? Who knows...

I would try to add System.ServiceModel tracing to DynamicsAX6HelpServer\web.config, it might help to get more information.

+agusqua: I wish I found your link sooner, I spent days trying to figure this one out.  Sure enough, the link takes to a page with a solution that worked for me.

    Migi,

It is a bit concerning that you are getting a SharePoint error when you try to access the help service. Did you install help server to a site where SharePoint is installed, or vice versa?

Which port(s) your EP site and Help server are set to use? If both are port 80 then you might have a problem.

See probably .NET  4.0 is not register..just register it... try following:

    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

    ATB..!!
