Has anyone provided access to their remote salespersons to update lead or contact information in their AX 2009 CRM system or do you just have them update outlook on their mobile device and sync up contacts when they are back in the office?

AX 2009 CRM can be access by the rich client or also exposed in the enterprise protal that uses SharePoint. If we have mobile salespersons that are at a trade show and want to update a contact or if they want to retrieve CRM information about a contact, has anyone found a good way to get that information to a smart phone?

The biggest issue with this depends on the smartphone actually. For example iPhone can't load the EP, because of ActiveX controls.

So depending on the smartphone will depend on the solution. EP is not really one though. The Outlook sync is ok, and something you need to watch for how it's set.

The best solution I have seen for these, is use something like DynamicsAnywhere, that has a framework for enabling web based applications for external access to AX. Or develop your own, specific web based or native app (most functionality and offers disconnect state) for allowing this to take place.
