Original Document for Vendor Payment Reversal

Hi everyone,

I posted a Vendor Payment using Check, then reversed the check. I am able to see the original Transaction for the Vendor Payment but NOT for the reversal.

Is this how it is in AX7/Dynamics 365? Or is this an issue in my environment

Please note i was able to see the original transaction for Payment and reversal in AX 2012.

Hi harry.b83,

How and where (in which form) did you reverse the check?

Can you describe this in more detail and also provide some additional information on what payment and transactions you see?

The above screens are Vendor Payment Voucher and Vendor Payment Original Document

The below screens are Payment reversal and the Voucher

This last screen below is the Original Document of the Payment Reversal but it is not there.

As you will see, i can see the original Document for the Payment but not for the reversal.

Hello Hari,

Thank you for sharing the screenprints.

Am I right if I say that you want to have a link to the original document of the payment that you want to see when you open the original document form for your reversal?

What is the current status of your reversal? Does it say pending or canceled?

What was the underlying source of your original transaction?

Hi Ludwig,

thanks for the response. Just a small correction in your understanding. I would like to see the Original document of the Payment Reversal not Payment. Every voucher is associated with its own original Document.

The current status of my reversal is cancelled.

Note: In AX2012, When i click on Original document on the Payment Voucher, I see the Original document of the Payment.

Similarly, when i click on the Original Document of the Reversal Voucher, I see the Original document of the Reversal.

Please let me know if i need to paste screenshots of AX2012.

Hello Hari,

I double checked that in an AX7 & D365f.O. environment and always got the reference to the original payment transaction, not the payment reversal transaction.

What you got can thus be considered as the standard behavior.

On LCS there does not seem to be a hotfix available for this issue, which leaves you with the option either to correct it yourself through a code modification or by contacting the MS support.
