Export into Excel

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

When I export a Trial Balance Detail/Summary report to Excel, and try to use a cell that supposedly has zero balance in it (i.e. appears blank) to feed into a formula, the answer is #VALUE!.   And I would have to go into the blank cell to manually delete what ever data is in the cell in order for the formula to work properly.  Does anyone know how I can Export to Excel without having to manually change anything?

Thanks in advance!

    RE: Export into Excel

    Hi,

Maybe you could do the trick in Excel?

The Excel-function "IFERROR" checks for value-errors in a cell and let's you decide to show an alternative value in such case.

    For example

    =IFERROR(A1+B2; 0)

"A1+B2" is the orginal formula. Excel will check if this formula results in a value error.
"0" is the value (you could add a formula too) which will be used, in case there is a value-error in the original formula.
