Prints report in portrait instead of landscape format

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi

I have a Report which prints in Portrait instead of landscape Format on different databases with the same objects and on the same Printer.

I have no idea where the bug is:

1) It's the same Printer

2) I use the same objects

3) I use same Version NAV 2015 8.00.41779

3) Only difference are the user Profile (but coud that create this issue?)

Can you please help me here out

Thanks in advance

I set the landscape format inside the rdlc designer.

When you preview the report in navision is the preview in landscape or Portrait ?

I don't think it is based on user until there is setting changes on printer level.

    Hi Leonardo,

Before Print this report check your printer settings and we don't have option to set report preview mode for user.

    Regards,

    Ramesh.

Well, the funny Thing is, i print on the same Printer but use different databases.

So, it's not a Printer Problem.

is there an other way to set the layout in landscape Format instead to set it on rdlc?

Is the above behavior happening for every user or only for one user, either way try to delete the personalization and try.

You can check more on personalization in this blog

Try the UseSystemPrinter = Yes Report property in the NAV Report Dataset Designer. That should do the job (it does for me in NAV 2016 CU4, eg. the Inventory Valuation Report). I must admit, that I am not quite sure what this property does (:-)), as the F1-help confuse me a bit. Anyone who can explain this property?

    Hi Leonardo,

And don't know if this is still an issue. But it might save other people some time if they are dealing with this issue.

The report I was developing and testing had the same problem.

The reason in my case was that this particular report was used in the Printer Selection List (backup from one of our customers).

Since it was a backup from one of our customers, the printer wasn't installed on our network and caused NAV to go wild with the report orientation.

I only had to remove the printer selection for this report and the orientation issue was solved.

Did you check the report properties in your report layout?

It should be in Landscape property.

    try this

remove landscape format inside the rdlc designer and map that user printer and set the printer mode on  landscape and save it

or while on print select landscape then try print
