I found a form on the sales order line Function Button "Explode BOM" , Can anyone tell me the functionality "Explode BOM".

The sales order line "Explode BOM" functionality is to create sales-lines quickly and for fast data-entry purpose
Simple steps explained
Step.1: Enter Item-id and desired qty of Finished-Good of BOM Item-Type
Step.2: click function button “Explode BOM”
Step.3: Mark All/Selected BOM Item in Exploded-BOM Form and Click OK
Result: The Marked BOM-Items will be automatically filled in sales-order lines grid with their formula qty factor

About expanding from sales orders
You can expand Bills of Material (BOM) from the sales order to manage package price offers.
For example, you are selling a package of items for a set price. The customer is allowed to select three items from a range of four possible choices. The three items that are selected have to appear on the invoice that is received by the customer. To accomplish this, select the Mark check box for each of the three items chosen, and then click OK.
i didnt got it, if possible can you explain me with some example some scenario
