Block negative sale in the store

Hi,

How to block Store Negative inventory sale in NAV?

Is this option not there in the NAV? Do I have go for customization to block my store staff from punching items which has zero inventory??.

    Hi Vishal,

    Is this for preventing punching zero inventory in LS Retail POS??.

    After I red those docs, I feel like it describes about posting sales/shipments in MS NAV.

    My concern is in the shop counter, when punching the Sales in the NAV POS(LS Retail).

    Whenever you are making sales at POS, are you updating the Item Ledger Entry or ILEs are getting updated at day end after statement posting?

    Setting such restriction in retail might negatively affect your customers. You might have a situation when customer physically took the item and wants to buy it, but you have not yet entered the purchase order to the system. With such restriction, you will not be able to sell the item at all, which is usually not wanted as it affects your sales.

    Alright. But we may got to block while punching items in LS Retail POS itself to get rid of mistakes from the sales staffs. We do not want any negative inventory sales to be happen in our shop ,our requirement/situation is like that.

    Do you generate the Item Ledger Entries, while posting the Sales immediately or ILEs are getting generated at the day end while posting statement?

    What is the setup at Functionality Profile > "Automatic Stock Update"?

    Based on your reply, we can suggest the required customization.

    If Automatic Stock Update is false, it means system would not generate any Item Ledger Entries at the time of Sales.

    ILEs would only be generated at the time of Statement Posting. In such case, it would become bit difficult to track your negative inventory. You need to consider lot of scenarios and need to write the code in POS Transaction codeunit considering your ILEs & Trans. Sales Entry Table.

    As this is bit complex requirement, I would suggest that you get this done via your partner.

    Or enable the "Automatic Stock Update" and write the simple code in Codeunit 22 >

    InsertItemLedgEntry function.

    I agree with Vishal, you better contact your partner, as you need to consider many scenarios and develop a kind of ERP functionality in POS, which is heavy.
