Setting access to Unit Groups and Units

Posted on by 38

Hello,

We created some user security roles and we cannot see entities Unit Group and Units on list of entities of setting Security Role.

Where do I need to set access for Users to Unit Group and Units?

Best regards

Anne Melnychenko

    Hello Shawn,

    Thank you for you answer!

Can you please show where are "Unit Group" and "Unit" entities in settings security role?

    Unfortunently, I cannot find them.

    Best regards,

    Anna Melnychenko.

RE: Setting access to Unit Groups and Units

To grant access to the Unit Group and Units entities in Dynamics 365, you will need to modify the security roles assigned to the users who require access.

Here's how you can do it:

    1. Go to the Security Roles window in Dynamics 365. You can access this by going to Settings > Security > Security Roles.

    2. Select the security role that you want to modify to grant access to the Unit Group and Units entities.

    3. Click on the "Core Records" tab.

    4. In the "Core Records" tab, find the "Business Management" section, and expand it.

    5. Look for the "Unit Group" and "Unit" entities and select the checkboxes next to them to grant access to these entities for the selected security role.

    6. Save and publish the security role changes.

After making these changes, users assigned to this security role should be able to access the Unit Group and Units entities in Dynamics 365. Note that it may take some time for the changes to take effect, depending on your system's configuration and synchronization settings.
