In a multi company multi database environment can application server do things such as
1)Post Transasctions accross multiple companies (which are each in their own database). That is client has 32 companies in 32 databases. I log into one company and start application server and then got to GL -Post Transactions and submit Post Tranactions and select multiple companies. Will app server be able to auto post transactions accross multiple companies each of which is residing in its own database.

If you are able to post the transactions to multiple companies by manually running it the Application Server will do the same. There are some processes like running the sales journal that has to be run in the company that is being affected. Depending on what you are automating you may need to push a button and there is a great tool for that PTFB Pro. http://www.ptfbpro.com/
