Modifying Permission to Edit Object ID (Pages / Forms)

Hey There,

I was wondering if anyone knew how it was possible to remove the ability to edit a page or form in NAV. I would need the user to just be able view information but not modify. Any help you can suggest would be greatly appreciated.

You may have nipped it in the butt. Thank you I believe I should be using roles that were already created rather than editing and making new ones. This helps. Thank you.

What have you tried? Did you create a role with read =yes and no for the others, assign it to a user and test the results?

The Permission table contains detailed information about the permissions that have been granted to each Nav security role in the current database.

The permissions indicate which Nav objects each particular security role has been granted read, insert, modify, delete or execute permission for.

Permissions for everyone can be a big task, so if you are just starting it and figured you'd click some check boxes and be done..usually not the case.

I would like to use permissions to control who can edit and who cannot.

In forms do you want to do it using permissions or are you simply talking about making a form uneditable?
