Integration of existing ESS with AX 2012

Hi All,

Organization have already an employee self service portal, which they require to integrate with AX so that employees billings/invoicing can be automated through their timesheets. Any guidance please?

Hello Ahmad,

If the employees already put their timesheet on the external system and assuming that they get approved there then you can simply fill hour journals in AX.

If you go through the AX timesheets then you need a workflow, which is not really needed if the approval already occurred.

Also the import of the time recorded is faster and easier if you simply fill a journal.

To fill the hours journal you can either leverage AIF or ask a developer to write a job/function for you that does the upload in AX.

Hi Ludwig,

My client has already an in-house ESS platform (it's not that Enterprise portal of AX itself) where all the employees put their timesheets. Now, they want to integrate that portal with AX so that all the hours details could be displayed in AX. So, i am interested to know that how can we link that ESS portal with AX?

What self service portal do you refer to?

Is that something different from the one we have in AX?
