Recovering an existing session

Posted on by 5

Hi,

I was working in a session and I got disconnected without being able to logout/save work.  When I try to log back in I get hit with the message "User ID is already logged in to company.  Would you like to view your current logins?".  I can then view my 1 active login.  I'm given the option to delete it, but I don't want to do that.  I want to recover that existing session and continue working in it, as I had unsaved work.  Is this possible?

Thank you,

Unfortunately, once you got kicked out of GP, your session in GP is done. The only reason why it is mentioning to view your current logins is because your user record still shows in the ACTIVITY system table as logged into that company, thus it cannot log you into the same company again until that record is removed.

There isn't any way to log back into that company again, and continue with the same session you had before, to continue any unsaved work. Dynamics GP doesn't work like that.

Even with Web Client, where it mentions an option to continue with a prior user session, it's pretty much the same reasoning in that the user didn't log out correctly, thus the user session still shows.

    Thanks
