Sales Order - Release To Warehouse 0 shipments created

(0) ShareShare

Hi All,

I have a small number of sales orders that will not allow me to release them to the warehouse.  The inventory has been reserved and the order confirmation has been printed.  When I click on 'Release to Warehouse' i get a message that 0 shipments have been created.

Interestingly enough if I look in the 'Release to Warehouse' program in the Warehouse Management module these SO are also missing from the list of available to release.

    Hi Josh,

Are the item(s) on the orders in a Storage Dimension Group which is enabled for Warehouse management processes? Is the Warehouse on the order line(s) a Warehouse which is enabled for Warehouse management processes?

What is the exact message you get when AX says no shipments have been created?

    Hi Guy,

Yes, both the storage dimension and the warehouse are enabled for Warehouse management process.  The exact error message that I get is

    "0 shipments have been created"

That's not a very helpful message, is it!

Other reasons I can think of why a release might fail:

    • Inventory is not Physically reserved to the order line
    • The delivery address (on the header or line) is incomplete
    • The fulfilment rate functionality is being used, and the fulfilment rate has not been met
    • A location (or any other storage or tracking dimension that is below Location in the Reservation hierarchy) is specified on the order line

Not at all! We have had other instances where the address was incomplete and it gave a more useful message.

I've confirmed that the delivery address was set correctly and that inventory is reserved.

The interesting thing is the one order had previously released! I had to cancel the work and delete the load.

OK. I've tested most of the scenarios we've discussed in a CU9 environment.

I only get the message '0 Shipments have been created' if no inventory is reserved to the order line.

I also get this message if I specify a location on the order line, but it is accompanied by another message, which begins 'You can’t create a load line for this order line because it contains inventory dimensions that are invalid'.

    Other messages I get:

All sales lines have already been released to the warehouse for sales order %1. I get this one if the line has already been released (and shipment exists).

Address is invalid. I get this if the address (on the order line) is incomplete (and I also get a message about which part of the address is missing).

A fulfilment rate of %1 (Quantity) was not met for sales order %2. I get this if the fulfilment rate is not met, and I've set it to Error in this scenario.

So I'm forced to conclude there is something wrong with your reservation.

    Any resolution to this?

I think you should also check location drive, wave templates and Work templates.

    1. Check you have all valid templates for this inventory dimension(You have reserved).

    2. Location types in location directive and parameter.

Any progress with this?  I have the same issue.

I am in an environment that we just upgraded to CU 9.  I hesitate to blame it on CU9 and not configuration because our config is also new and untested from our "Gold" environment,

Storage Dimension Group is warehouse managed as is Warehouse.

I don't think the Work Templates or the Location Directives have anything to do with it because the wave has not been created therefore not processed so no work has been attempted to be created yet.

    Josh,

We're your item imported via DIXF?  I am having the same issue.

On a hunch, I created an item manually, added some on-hand inventory and created a sales order.  Upon releasing to warehouse the wave, shipment, and work were created as designed.

Still investigating why the DIXF items don't work.  Everything in EcoResStorageDimensionGroupItem looks good.
