Hi All,
I am guessing most of you that use the Performance Management module are aware of the current issue/bug where the system cannot distinguish when a line manager is in an employee role and wants to submit their own review to their line manager. This causes issues and the review would have to be rolled back by admin - Is there any viable workaround for this where the review will/should route to manager's own line manager without any issues?
Thank you..
Hi Ramson,
is this while using the workflow piece? As we are not experiencing the same issue but our reviews are going through workflow.
Side note: We have all features enabled and are on the latest version
Hi drSavard,
Yes, this is while using the workflow if a line manager was to click the 'submit to manager' button they basically submit to themselves and does not go to their line manager. Hope that makes sense?
Thanks
Ramson
Could you please let us know more details about workflow setup used in Performance review. If you use managerial hierarchy, system should always go up from Workflow originator. Even when a line manager submits his performance review, it should go up to his manager.
Please provide information how you did setup the workflow configuration. Like Michal mentioned, you should use the managerial hierarchy for user assignment. In that case, it can never be approved by himself as his manager will be found.
If you have a role assignment, then theoretically, the user can approve his own submission. To prevent this, you can set a Final approver on the workflow configuration. This is only triggered when the submitter and approver are the same person.
Thanks so much for your prompt responses.
Yes, the workflow is set up with managerial hierarchy.
Apologies my post may have not been that clear and have taken screenshots of the workflow and detailed the issue in the attached with notes on each step.
In a nutshell the 'My Annual Review' and the 'My Team's Review' form is the same for an employee with line manager role .i.e. the 'Begin Review' button should not be visible for their own review..Hope this is a lot more clearer?

Thanks once again!
Thank you for update. I need to test it and I will get back to you soon.
Hello,
I have done some testing in my environment and I am still able to see the Begin review button (as per my understanding this is where your issue is) with simply an employee role assigned to the user.
Are you using a role customization/page personalization to hide the button for users that only have employee roles assigned to them?
Thanks for your response Alexandra. We have a potential workaround solution that was suggested by one of the contributors to this forum - will trial it out and if it works we will give feedback so it benefits anyone that has similar issue..
To answer your question we are using page personalization
