Work flow approval for time sheet in Project module

Hi All,

I am finding an issue in timesheet workflow. My scenario is , in case project manager is filling the time sheet , it should auto approved. I am setting workflow condition

But above set up dose not bring desired result because

1) resource on timesheet line line is blank

2) if i keep value manfully on timesheet line - resource is taking personnel id from employee master while project manager id is taking employee id from employee master. Hence there is mismatch in value. Hence Workflow never get auto approved regardless of nature of employee.

Kindly suggest.

Hello SK1,

What AX2012 version do you operate and what workflow type did you use?

I don't see the same validation option in the review timesheet workflow in AX2012.

Would be great if you could elaborate.

Exact difference -

Project manager id - Name from employee master

Resource Id from timesheet line - Personnel id. from employee master

Hi SK1,

It would be possible to add new calculated virtual fields to the workflow query. This is a development task. Then you can choose to use the name or personnel ID.

Hi SK1,

I have tested the scenario and I think your expectation is correct. System should automatically approved the timeheet with such a setup. I have checked our records and I haven't found this issue reported earlier. Please report it to our Microsoft Support, so we can raise it to product team and get clarification from their side.

Hi All,

Created new field - project worker on timesheet line table, which gets defaulted from timesheet resource from timesheet table. Same field added in Workflow query in order to create condition - Timesheetline.projworker= projects. Project manager. It worked as expected.
