Business Unit, Cost center, Department are stored in OMOperatingUnit table based on OMOperatingUnitType.

Location, Region are stored in DimensionFinancialTag table.

    Thank you. Very useful.

I just wanted to ask one question which related to Financial dimensions.

The DimensionAttributeValueCombination table has a column "DisplayValue" which stores the complete account with the dimensions it is going to hit.

Lets say we change department dimension from ABC to XYZ, will it have any impact? Is this field is used for any processing or it is only used to display the value. If it is only used to display the value, how the system knows which financial dimension to hit because it is not saving those dimension values in table column specified in the JV.

    Waiting for reply.

    Thanks.

Just to add, for custom dimensions, you can look at DimensionFinancialTag Table. It stores dimension values for all custom dimensions (not based on some master table)

You can find the tables in the pdf mentioned, but to summarize they are: DimensionAttributeSet, DimensionAttributeSetItem, DimensionAttribute, and their *Value counterparts DimensionAttributeValueSet, DimensionAttributeValueSetItem, DimensionAttributeValue.

    Hi Guy

Both, but especially financial dimension values.

I think the whitepaper from this link (MS download) is the best at explaining what you are looking for download.microsoft.com/.../Implementing_the_Account_and_Financial_Dimensions_Framework_AX2012.pdf

Do you mean the dimension names like 'Cost center', 'Business unit', 'Purpose', or the dimension values that you can select for each dimension?
