Last year we had a client surprise us by deciding to outsource their warehouse management system. We had 6 months to write import/export routines before they went live. We are sending files to and from an SFTP server. Things work pretty well right now but now they are asking if there is a better way. In the remote warehouse is Oracle running SX so there is no way to have a direct connection between the two systems. What have others done to create a secure and stable connection between two systems that have nothing in common?
We currently have several eConnect applications bringing data into GP. They all work but sometimes the internet goes down and files can't go to and from the SFTP server. I wish they could have everything on one server.
We use SSIS packages to "synchronize" between 2 different products on different SQL boxes...and I'm thinking this should work with Oracle db as well. Mind you we are not using Oracle but it may be worth looking into.
I looked but don't really have anything I can add here. The only questions I've seen close to this is more a migration from something like Oracle to Dynamics GP, not really a synchronization of data between the two platforms.
Hopefully the Community will have some ideas........
Thanks
