How to enable Change Date Dialog in GP 2018?

Hi,

We have upgraded our GP from 2010 to 2018. In GP 2010, We have below Change Date Dialog displayed by default in midnight but after upgrade, I can't see this dialog. I want to enable this Dialog in GP 2018 and i couldn't find any setting in GP.

I want this dialog enabled in GP 2018 because sometime GP 2018 doesn't update date automatically based on system date. our users didn't notice that and created documents/transactions for old date.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Atul

Thanks Richard for sharing this article. I already tried this switch SuppressChangeDateDialog in dex.ini but didn't work. I believe that this setting was working fine in old GP versions (In my case, GP 2010). I want to show Change Date Dialog instead of suppressing it.

Try removing the line. I do not have that line in any client computer and they all get the date dialog box.

Richard, we didn't have SuppressChangeDateDialog in our dex.ini file before. In both cases (add or remove SuppressChangeDateDialog from dex.ini file), it doesn't work for me.

    Thanks

Here is what is in our DEX.INI file. Please compare this to yours. I have never had a computer where that dialog box does not appear.

I compared your dex file with my file and most of they are similar except mine has few additional switches for Form Printers. I have removed all switches of form printers and tried but no luck.  Weird problem.

    Thanks for your reply!

Is it possible the change date dialog box is appearing behind the GP screen? Perhaps it is minimized?  When you come in in the morning and press ALT TAB do you see a window for it? Do all your computers behave this way or just this one?

Richard, There is no any dialog box behind the GP screen. When I come back in the morning, I can see updated date (Automatically updated by GP) but for few users, 3-4 times GP didn't update date automatically and they didn't notice that. Recently one user had this issue.  Before GP upgrade, it was working fine. We didn't see this dialog from the beginning  after upgrade.  FYI, we have GP 2018 on terminal server.

Does your server behave the same way or any other workstation that is not the terminal server? At this point I would suggest to uninstall GP through programs and features, delete the GP program folder, reboot the T/S and reinstall. You have tried everything else.

Hi Richard, I figured out the issue. Because of Update User Date check mark in PSTL tool, it didn't show up. I have unchecked that check mark in PSTL tool and Change Date Dialog is working fine.

    Thanks for your time!
