Category Hierarchy types "A different hierarchy for this role already exists"

Hello all,

I am running the AX 2012 R3 demo on lcs. I am walking through creating category hierarchies. I build the list and close out to come back to the Product Information Management> Setup> Categories > Categories Hierarchies list

I then choose Associate Hierarchy type and in the types form > New > Procurement Category Hierarchy  and choose the new Category Hierarchy which I named Robots.

When I go to close the form I receive an info log message

"A different hierarchy for this role already exists."

the user I am logged in as is admin so I imagine there is something associated with my login and its role which is causing this?

Can anyone provide a suggestion?

    Hello kwoznica,

    Do you see another hierarchy chosen as Procurement hierarchy in that list?

    You can assign only one hierarchy for procurement hierarchy role at a time.

    Hi Kwoznica,

    In addition to the reply from Fatih:

    When there are some transactions it is not possible to change the procurement category link. So once chosen a procurement hierarchy, this is the one you will have to use within the lifecycle of your environment. You can then only change the contents of the active linked hierarchy.
