Connecting to remote AOS through internet is a bad idea. You need extremely low latency between AX clients and application servers to get good performance. Also, note that the Demo environment is a single-machine deployment.

Instead of using your local machine to connect to the AOS on the demo machine, connect to the demo machine through RDP and run the client there. The steps are explained in section 5. Open the AX 2012 R3 client of Deploy an AX 2012 R3 or AX 2012 R3 CU8 demo environment on Azure [AX 2012].

I'm not sure what you mean by "to link Local AD to Azure". If you want to synchronize Active Directory and Azure AD, you'll find it in Azure documentation: Integrating your on-premises identities with Azure Active Directory. If you need to discuss it, you should go to an Azure forum - it has nothing to do with Dynamics AX. Nevertheless note that AX2012 still uses "normal" AD, not Azure AD.

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for the reply.

One of my Customer wants to deploy AX in Azure.

    AX is windows authenticated right.

how should i give access to end users? should i give separate RDP for each user?

should i created users in Azure AD or we can link our local AD to Azure?

Again, AX2012 doesn't use Azure AD, therefore creating users there make no sense. You need the "normal" AD, which may be installed on a VM in Azure. It's not the same thing as Azure AD.

You obviously can extend your AD or to have separate AD forests with a trust - please talk to your Active Directory administrator or, if necessary, ask in an AD forum.

What do you mean by "separate RDP"? RDP is a protocol. Do you mean separate VMs with AX client? You could create a separate VM for each user, but it would be a waste of resources.

You have to give users the RDP file and user credentials.

It will help you if first learn more about VMs in Azure in general, before using them for hosting Dynamics AX. You'll find plenty of information in Azure documentation, on Microsoft Virtual Academy and so on.

    Hi Sathish ,

As per my knowledge there is no method to authenticate VM logins via Azure AD.

So you need to configure Active Directory(ADDS) in one of Virtual machine .For users  you have to deploy Remote Desktop Services and you need to Purchase RDS CAL s according to number of users.

If you really want to install client, then you need to establish VPN between Azure and your Local Area Network , and you have to have enough bandwidth.

But as per my experience RDS is much better than VPN.

    Hope this will help !!!,
