hi all,

i want to install AX 2012 R3 version in to a server.

i have gone through the ax installation guide pdf which seems difficult to understand..

can anyone pls suggest me easier way to install that..

Hi Lakshmi,

The most easy way it to run the setup from the installation media, but to have everything working correctly, I would advise you to follow the installation guide.

Note that you don't have to install all components if you are e.g. not using retail.

easier way to install is to install single server installation

in this kind of installation all the basic components are installed on one server

basic components of dynamics AX is

Database component

Application server

Application object server

once it is installed open the client and run the check list

once all check list item is completed you have Basic Dynamics AX installed on you server...

Now to do all this installation you need to understand many things which is listed in Dynamics AX Installation and configuration guide.

It is recommended to read this document at least once

I have now about 10 years and I always refer to this document to validate my installation task.

First you need to run setup from the installation media, the follow the installation Order.

1. Install Database

2.Install Application object server

3. Install Client and developer tools

It will minimize the configuration changes.
