Can't open an hyperlink to CRM from Excel

Hi,

we have Office 365 and Dynamics 365 CRM online.

Trying to open from Excel an hyperlink of CRM record, the user is redirected to the default page of CRM instead of the specific record.

Is there a way to fix this behaviour?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Alessia,

do you mean in an Excel-File generated by a report? Or how did you create that Excel sheet?

    Best regards
    Mick

    Hi partner,

This is a known issue, not sure if it is by design.

Hyperlink for dynamics 365 in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint will only redirect to the homepage of D365 and not to a specific record.

Hyperlink in other applications will redirect to the specific record of D365, such as OneNote or PDF.

    Hi Alessia,

I think, the users just copy and paste the link shown in the browser like yourorganization.com/main.aspx

But this is not the correct link to the record.

    They can e.g.:

"Email a link" - a ribbon in a record you can trigger to send an email with the correct link and copy the link.

    Or by creating them

    Account: https://YourOrganization.com/main.aspx?etc=1&id={RECORDID}&pagetype=entityrecord

    Contact: https://YourOrganization.com/main.aspx?etc=2&id={RECORDID}&pagetype=entityrecord

    Opportunity: https://YourOrganization.com/main.aspx?etc=3&id={RECORDID}&pagetype=entityrecord

    Lead: https://YourOrganization.com/main.aspx?etc=4&id={RECORDID}&pagetype=entityrecord

With this, you can also create links in a report dynamically.

    e.g: "https://YourOrganization.com/main.aspx?etc=4&id={" & "accountid" & "}&pagetype=entityrecord"

    Hope this helps.
