Hello,
I have been trying to access BC installed at Azure using iPhone App (Business Central App) but cannot.
Credential type is already NavUserPassword, server certificate should be OK for SSL, and the certificate has been installed on the iPhone. I can also log in BC using Safari on the iPhone without any error, but not with the App. Version is BC 15.
When I start the app, I choose "My Business Central is not in the cloud yet." and in the next screen where I have to enter "Service name", I enter like "https://12.345.67.89/ServerInstance" , which works on Safari, but get the error of "Could not connect to the server".
Does anybody have any idea what the problem is?
I tested the connection with FQDN but I had the server certificate error. The self-signed certificate is not accepted by iPhone and this is probably as far as I can get as I cannot pay for the certificate for my development server.
Yes, I will.
I also need to know this for my future customer support.
Let us know if that was indeed the solution!
Thank you for your suggestion.
I have not worked with DNS label at Azure but that may be the solution and I will see if it works.
Hi,
You cannot compare WebClient with Universal App on either Android, Windows or iPad. These Apps do require direct endpoints. What happens if you use another SSL cert with an alternate name like mynav.cloudapp.azure.com (you do need to assign a DNS label to your Azure VM).
Thanks.
Hello,
I am only working with iPhone but accessing our test BC server with IP address works on Safari browser without getting certificate error.
So it has something to do with Dynamics 365 App on iPhone (or Dynamics 365 App in general).
Hello,
Does it work with the Windows Universal App using IP address?
Thanks.
Thank you for the link that helps.
The environment I was trying to get to using the mobile app is our test environment on Azure and I guess I cannot get there using the app.
Hello,
I think you need to use a direct url and then mail that to your device (or type it over in the browser) and open it via the url:
ms-businesscentral://IP-address/instancename
Thanks.
Thank you for asking.
Yes, it is like this
DNS Name=(DNS Name)
IP Address=12.345.67.89
IP Address=127.0.0.1
