MFG Exclusion List set to Inactive

I have not experienced this before. 1. Run MRP for 13 weeks, 2. Go to MRP view and select my item, 3 Drill down on the displayed quantity and there is no details shown in the quantities query window.

The exclusion list is showing the item as INACTIVE

I know that there are transactions.

MRP is turned on for the Item Resource Planning (Overall and site)

MRP is turned on in Item Engineering Data

MRP is set to show items with No activity.

If I remove the INACTIVE exclusion it reappears when MPR is regen

Not understanding why there is not Details.

Running GP2015 RTM

    Hello Chip,

Thank you for using Community Forums My name is Becky, and I will assist you.

When an item appears as inactive on the Exclusion List, it means that there is no activity (no demand) for the item. If there is not demand, MRP does not need to create any planned orders. If you unmark the Include Items with no Activity checkbox in MRP Preferences, the item will no longer appear on the Exclusion List. You can also enter a sales order for the item to create demand.

If you want to verify the item is working, determine the current on hand quantity for the item, and set the Order Point field for the item/site in Item Resource Planning to be higher. Regenerate MRP. This will cause a planned order to be created,

Becky, I get the inactive, but when I drill down on and of the quantities values into the  Quantities Query Window, I am not getting any transactions or values. I should be getting something in that window.

I am not sure if these is a query or script that would show what should be in that window.

    Hello Chip,

You are not seeing anything when you drill down in the Quantities Query window because there is no activity in MRP for this item.

There is no script that would show this because there is nothing to show.

As I suggested earlier, change the order point quantity for the item/site in Item Resource Planning to a higher value (higher than the on-hand quantity) and generate MRP to verify it can create planned orders for the item. If it cannot there is generally issues with how the item is set up in Item Resource Planning. If it can create an order, there is issues with the demand for the item.

Becky, That is still not the issue. The item has zero quantities on-hand. The Beginning quantities were from Past Due Productions. I changed MRP not to include past due orders and sent the reorder point Lot for Lot to 10.  Reran MRP.

The Pegging window is showing transactions for this item Including the MMO to make the item.

There are transaction quantities in various months as expected, but when I drill down to any of them the Quantities Query window is blank.

I have confirmed that there is nothing in the exclusion list so my original "Inactive" question is mute.

I am trying to understand how it can calculate the number correctly but not show anything in the Quantities Query window. I have just never seen this happen ever before and it does not appear to be something that was corrected in a fix list.

It calculates the values in the Quantities Query window based on stored procedure mmrpBuildMrpQuantitiesTemp. There is no specific table that it pulls from, it pulls values from several table.

You will want to check to see if you have that stored procedure in SQL.

Thank you, getting closer, but yes that SP exist and I check DYNGRP has execute rights.

I would capture trying to drill down to the MRP Quantities Query window in a dexsql.log to see if the stored procedure kicks off.

Here is what the line looks like in my dexsql.log. The date listed would be the first date MRP looked at. It is in the past because I included 60 days in the past when MRP was generated.

    BEGIN DECLARE @stored_proc_name char(34) DECLARE @retstat int DECLARE @param6 numeric(19,5) DECLARE @param7 numeric(19,5) set nocount on SELECT @param6 = 0.00000 SELECT @param7 = 0.00000 SELECT @stored_proc_name = 'TWO.dbo.mmrpBuildMrpQuantitiesTemp' EXEC @retstat = @stored_proc_name 21, '##2375043', 'sa', 'TEMP', '2027.02.11', @param6 OUT, @param7 OUT SELECT @retstat, @param6, @param7 set nocount on END

If it does not help, I think you need to open a support ticket for this issue.

Configure the policy value for Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options -> "Interactive logon: Machine inactivity limit" to "900" seconds" or less, excluding "0" which is effectively disabled.MyGroundBiz
