This is such a creative idea since there are several businesses that track items on their supply chain through the flow you have mentioned above.
Theoretically speaking, such a brilliant idea. Have you achieved any progress on which we could build and share the knowledge ?

Excited to note the importance of the requirement. Finally got some time to investigate. The crux of the issue we are facing is users disputing the allocated quantity. They were associating the allocated quantities to voided orders. The way out was to provide info on which orders does the allocated quantity relate. Luckily did not have to break my head on this a lot,
