Is it the same procedure as with the upgrade from centaurusstore version (= Field Service Mobile version 9) to FSDyn365_1.0.1322.woodford (= V.11.x) as described here:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/field-service/mobile-upgrade-project
Or can we more simply just overwrite the former parent (x.1322) project of our customization derive with the new version? So that everything unchanged by customizations gets inherited from the overwritten new base (than x.2735)?
I believe the projects have different components in so you will need to derive the new ms project with the old one.
Too be honest I understand that the 9.1 upgrade to 11.1 was a big upgrade so I was willing to go through the hassle of readding my customisations again but it's too much work to do the same thing again just to do a regular update.
It's probably the limitation of not being able to derive an existing project in woodford but the whole thing is not ideal.
Hi Thomas,
yes, I also got the confirmation from Microsoft that even for the smaller updates (example 1.0.1322 to 1.0.2735) we should follow the instructions from the docs-article, not only for the "big" upgrade from app version 9.x to 11.x.
I totally agree that this is a hassle which you would usually not expect. However at least we now have clear instructions on how to do that.
