When running the elimination, set eliminate to Fixed Asset. Specify the Asset Id and Valuation model.  (General tab)

Hello Patrick, Before you eliminate the project you manually select the fixed asset to which you plan to transfer all cost. Once the elimination is posted, AX automatically has the link to your fixed asset and can display the fixed asset linked to your project. Hope it helps, Ludwig

so if i understand correct, there is no way for me to link the Fixed asset to the project since this estimate project id field will be auto populated at the creation of the Project ....

so how do i link a fixed asset to a project

The fixed asset field is enabled if there is no estimate project id specified for Investment, Internal or cost project types and the project status is not finished.  Once the estimate project id field contains a value the fixed asset field is disabled.  By default the project estimate id field is auto populated during the creation of the project.

No project functionality uses this field as it is reference only.

Hello Patrick, the fixed asset field that you can identify in the Projects form cannot directly be edited. What you need to do first is run an estimate and eliminate the project to a fixed asset. You can either search TechNet on how this process works or wait until the end of this week as I will post the steps required on my blog. All the best, Ludwig
