Sending commands to receipt printer via Navision 2009 report

Hello,

The company I work at recently designed a receipt report, and upon printing a receipt we noticed that the receipt was not automatically cut off. We know that the printer has this functionality because we have other software that is setup to cut off the receipt that it produces. Going through the manual, one can also find the command that is supposed to make the printer cut off the receipt.

I'm inclined to think that this other software somehow sends the "cut off" command to the printer, and I was wondering how one would do this in Nav.

The printer is a TPG-A794 and the following link leads to the printers manual: www.cognitivetpg.com/.../189-9200250C.pdf

Best regards

Marcus

    Hi,

I have never tried that but it's not very weird. I would suggest you to do this using .NET and then later use that as an Extension to the NAV.

Another solution could be to use the Webservice of that #function into NAV directly. Refer to ArchersBlog: https://community.dynamics.com/nav/b/moxie4nav/archive/2015/09/10/call-external-web-service-using-new-cu-1290

-Make sure the software that you are talking about provides API.

    Good luck.
