Importing Bank Transfers into Dynamics GP Bank Transfer Screens

Has anyone figured out how to import Bank Transfers into GP?  I have over 350 checkbooks that transfer money to and from each checkbook... currently we enter those manually and thankfully there are not a lot of daily, but that could change... I want to be able to download the information from our bank and use some kind of a tool or ??? to import the transactions into GP and have them post as they enter... which the screen only does transactional posting so that may be the problem.

Unfortunately Bank Transfers are one of the few things that isn't available via eConnect as an import node. One thing you may want to consider depending on the complexity of your banking needs, is considering purchasing an ISV module like Nolan's Advanced Bank Rec which reconciles against the GL which opens up the possibilities to importing via regular journal entries instead of Bank Transfers.

I realize this answer won't help with your literal question but it might open up an avenue to explore given the number of checkbooks you have.

GPHouston - If your GP license comes with Integration Manager, there is a standard integration you can use to meet this requirement.

    Hi Ven,

I don't believe Bank Transfers is a destination in IM. Bank Reconcile and Bank Transactions are, but not tranfers from what I recall. Admittedly I haven't used IM for a while as most clients I've dealt with use SmartConnect.

The original poster may be able to use IM though by doing Bank Transactions - increase and decrease adjustments. It's not ideal, as it's 2 transactions for a transfer and you'd have to use a clearing account as an intermediary if you went that route.

Mail merge macro is the only option that comes to mind (except for 3rd party - as @Jen mentioned).  Here is a link to a blog by Redbeard that might help - I can't find the article by Leslie but maybe she will respond :) redbeardblogging.blogspot.com/.../how-to-create-and-run-simple-macro-in.html

You are absolutely right. I was naive to think IM had this as a standard type.

    Thanks for correcting me.
