Weight scale machine with Ax 2012 R3 Retail POS

Hi All,

I am working in Ax 2012 R3 and configuring weight scale machine device in it.

Below screen short are my setup in AX.

1. For product configuration :

2. Also add device name in scale tab in hardware profile in retail menu as per below screen short:

After run jobs.

But in POS, when I put product in scale after select product in product search menu , the following error is generated :

Is something missing? Please advice me.

Hi Nimisha,

POS supports only Scales of type 'OPOS'. So you need to install OPOS drivers for your scale and reconfigure AX.
'Windows driver' type is not supported: technet.microsoft.com/.../hh580636.aspx

The form you see is not error, POS simply waits for response from Scale, but cannot receive it because Scale is not OPOS.

Hi Nimisha,

If ure Scale is not supports by OPOS driver, and ure scale can print the label barcode with net amount of price u can use this scenario:

Config ure AX Price embedded barcode :

community.dynamics.com/.../price-embedded-barcode-in-ax2012

Config ure Scale to print lable barcode like this : 10000025000

1- put ure product in scale.

2- ure scale print label barcode with net amount.

3- Scane this label in POS it will do a backward calculation to give u the quantity.

I have installed "Prolific USB-to-Serial Common Port (COM3)" drives but it is not supported. Please tell me which OPOS drives are supported?

Can u contact ure vendor to ask hem what version of OPOS is supported by scale.

Hi Nimisha,

Do you know the manufacturer of Scale?

On the site of manufacturer you should be able to find OPOS drivers. Usually they are built for 1.13/1.14 version of OPOS.

You also need to install OPOS controls on POS PC from here: www.monroecs.com/oposccos_current.htm

I have purchased OPOS based weight scale machine but somehow it's not working. So I have done some customization in peripheral project. Now it's working fine.
