I would like to get a list of all my purchases ordered per category, is this possible?
Im pretty new at Dynamics NAV, so if this is very straightforward i'm very sorry.

Go to Item Ledger Entry select Entry Type as Purchase,
Enable Field Item category code on ILE form and if requried put filter on Posting date
Copy data in Excel.
There should be a out of the box that you could use with filters I am sure, which version of NAV are you using ?
