NAV 2016 Inserting Dimension value in Dimension Set Entry Table

Hi all,

Am trying to insert Dimension value for a sales invoice for which two sets of dimension codes were already

been inserted, when i'm inserting the third value, system is throwing error saying dimension set ID already exists. how do i insert the third dimension code and value without losing the previously present dimension code and value in dimension set entry table?

Help is much appreciated.

Hi all,

I solved the problem by inserting all dimension codes and values in temporary dimension set entry and using dimension management function GetDimensionSetID and modifying Dimension Set ID value in Sales Header and Line.

The issue was that i was inserting directly into dimension set entry which will cause problems while posting since the tree node is not created for the newly inserted record.

using the above said functionality i solved my problem

Actually Am not trying to directly insert into dimension set entry table, rather am trying to create third dimension value for that particular sales order via C/AL
