Model-driven app switch canvas

Hi guys,

When creating CanvasApp through Model-driven, after save CanvasApp, we used to have the name and App Id inside our field control, like below:

My question is what exactly the number digits added at the back of the App name ?

If click the Edit button, I will get this dialog box ->

Can someone advice me what is that for ? and what exactly the meaning of "Bind to a static value"?

Reason also, I want to ask whether it is possible to switch canvas app after we create it ? So the plan is to switch it with different Canvas but still it was created previously from another entity/table, so I will still have the "ModelDrivenFormIntegration" component inside.

So basically, that's why I'm wondering what is the number behind CanvasApp name about? Because when I save, it is not with that number.

So even if we can replace, I'm not sure what to key in for the "replacement" Canvas App, I have the name, but without numbers.

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    RE: Model-driven app switch canvas

    Hi Tony,

Since your issue is not related to Field Service application in Dynamics, I cannot answer it quite perfectly. It is recommended to post your issue to the community of Power Apps.

Please refer to the following documentation, which states that “If this name isn’t set, the App ID property will be used to reference the canvas app, which may cause issues when you import the canvas app as part of a solution.”

Add an embedded canvas app on a model-driven form - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs

And is the following documentation the switch you are referring to?

Edit a canvas app embedded on a model-driven form - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs

Anyway, please post it to the community of Power Apps for more help.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

    Nya
