Hello,
I recently copied a Visual Studio solution containing a Finance & Operations customization project originally created in Visual Studio 2019 on another development environment to my local environment which uses Visual Studio 2022 I successfully imported the model (DEVTest10) using ModelUtil.exe as in this Microsoft documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/dev-tools/models-export-import
when I try to open the project in my new local environment I encounter the following error message:

An error occurred in 'Miscellaneous Files' while attempting to open 'BranchMasterEntity.xml'
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at Microsoft.VisualStudio.Modeling.Shell.DocData.LoadDocData(String fileName)

File path: C:\AOSService\PackagesLocalDirectory\DEVTest10\DEVTest10\AxDataEntityView\BranchMasterEntity.xml
Frame GUID: 7dcb09ff-3066-475f-9286-662c3c505513
Frame mode: VSFM_MdiChild
Error code: 0x80004003

Does anyone know the best practice for migrating a legacy project to a new development environment?

Thanks

    Hi,

    Try to remove the 'BranchMasterEntity.xml' from rnrproj file.

    and when you open the projet add them from AOT.

    Best regards,

    Did you mean I should remove this section at the project ?

     <Content Include="AxDataEntityView\BranchMasterEntity">
       <SubType>Content</SubType>
       <Name>BranchMasterEntity</Name>
       <Link>Data Entities\BranchMasterEntity</Link>
     </Content>
    How can I add a new one from AOT into the project ?

    Thanks
