Sending statements form the system: NAV

Hi there,

Hope all is well.

I sometimes get customers that advise they didn't get their statement of account, and so, I have to export to PDF and then send it by e-mail. Is there a way I can just have it resent from the system with a generic message or I have to export it each time?

Are you performing this task always manually or it's scheduled? You could create a codeunit that generates a PDF for the report and send a mail to the customer for example.

Well right now I thought it was done automatically, but it seems some customers aren't getting them... so I checked the set up and all is great. But I was hoping for those few that e-mail me for another copy, there is a way I can just have it sent again from the system to the specific customer.

If the procedure is setup correctly and other customers have received the email, it could be possible that the problem is at customer site. Have you try a single send? Does it work? Consider also that, if you send too much requests, your mail server could reject something...

That's actually what I don't know how to do.. how can I send a single send from the system? Is there a way? Or do I really still have to export etc...?

Can you please explain what are you using now to send the statements of account report to your customers? Is it a customization or what?

I'm not to sure of the IT side to be honest. I just know that I manually send it from my outlook if they don't get them since I do not know how to send a one shot to a customer from the system.

In nav 2009 this is not standard. Check the form, where you call the account statement report, if there is a button or menu item to send a single statement. If not you need a customisation done by your nav partner.
