Hello Community,
We are trying to implement Azure devops for Version control in AX 2012.
We have done this for D365 FO where the version control is maintained and Pipelines are run to generate release packages.
If anyone could guide me or share any articles for the same.
Thanks
Thank you GirishS for the response.
By 'Team foundation server URL', you mean the organization-name.visualstudio.com/DefaultCollection ?
If yes, I do have the access to this URL.
I also tried without the Application root folder, but the same error appears.
I am also running the AX Client with Administrator account.
I suppose that after I setup the URL and the Project name, a window would appear to let me login to Visual Studio Online (I saw this in some Blogs). But no such window appears.
Hi Sohan Prasad Kanti,
Have you checked whether you have access to the team foundation server url?
Try to connect without giving Application root folder.
Thanks,
Girish S.
Unfortunately it's quite a few years since I worked with AX 2012. I know that TFS Compatibility GDRs were needed to get tge TFS client working, but I'm not sure that it's still needed in the latest version of AX 2012. It's definitely something that I would explore. Also, try running AX client as administrator.
Yes Martin, I am able to connect with Visual Studio.
I was getting the 'Empty response' error when I was using 'http' in the URL. After I used 'https', It gave me the same original error (Screenshots above in this thread).
Is it some Authentication issue?
Are you able to connect to the project from Visual Studio (when using the same URL)?
Hi Martin,
If you could help me up with this?
I am still not able to connect my AX 2012 R3 with the Project on Azure DevOps for version control.
I replace the URL with the format you shared. I have checked the URL and its correct.
But in AX, I am now getting an error of Empty response.
What could be the cause for this?
The URL looks strange to me - I would expect something like mycompany.visualstudio.com/DefaultCollection.
The project name is the name of the team project you created in Azure DevOps.
Hi Martin.
I am trying to setup Azure devops Version control in AX 2012.
For this, I have created a Project in Azure devops as well.
Now, in AX 2012 I have selected the Team foundation server for Version control.
But, I need guidance in filling the other details like Team foundation server URL and Project name.
Here, Team foundation server URL is https://dev.azure.com/{organization name} and Project name is the Project that I have created on Azure DevOps.
Because on saving, it is giving me a error.
I am unable to figure out what I am missing.
Do you have any particular question? It's not clear what you'd like to know.
