NAV2009 -> NAV2017: DBCS lost

Dear all

We are working on an upgrade from 2009 to 2017. During the test upgrade everything wen well, especially the transfer of some fielddata, where we lost the double byte character sets (chinese, japanese, corean characters etc.). The text fields (for example customer name) is now filled with messy code.

We are coming from 6.00.29626 and are upgrading to 10.0.16996.

The collation for NAV 2009:
In NAV Classic client: SQL Binary Sort Order, Code page 850 (40)
In SQL Mgmt. Studio: SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_BIN

If I open the upgraded database, I see the messy code. If I open NAV 2009 Live with the same Notebook, I see the correct characters in the 2009 client. The Code page of this notebook is 850

Anyone with any ideas about that? I read a lot of artichles about that. But I can't found an explanation at which step during the upgrade which tasks are necessary to prevent this.

Thank you for your help in advance.

    Hi TW1982, I have the same problem, have you solved somehow?

    Additional info: Further tests have shown, that the messy code in NAV appears after the conversion to NAV 2013.

    Additional info from my side: I checked the content of the NAV 2009 live database via SQL Server Mgmt. studio and saw, that there we have also the messy code. That means for me: The translation into double byte characters happens outside of the database.
