How to track contacts in Dynamics 365 App for Outlook

Hi,

Is there an option to track a contact automatically in Dynamics 365 App for outlook.I can see the options to individually track an email.

Here are my doubts:

1. When Dynamics 365 App for outlook is published to the users, They recieve an email with reference to setting up automatic tracking of folder. The URLs are of Dynamics Outlook add-in. Not the latest Dynamics 365 app for outlook.

2. Can we track folders and contacts in the new dynamics 365 app for outlook.

    Hello Kumar,

    You have posted this question under the Dynamics Marketing forum. We would need some more details before answering.

    Do you need to track Dynamics 365 App for Outlook within Marketing (i.e. links clicked and opens from Outlook will show up and usable in the Marketing app as well) or your question is simpler -just about tracking content in Dynamics 365 App for Outlook (without Dynamics Marketing getting into the picture)?

    Hi Mauro,

    Once we enable Dynamics 365 App for Outlook. We need to enable tracking of emails individually in Outlook to have them appear in timeline of account, contact or lead in Microsoft Dynamics Marketing. In extension to that, do we have an option to track a contact so that, any email from contact is automatically tracked in dynamics and shows in the contact timeline.

    Thanks Kumar for providing more details. No, we don't have a generic option to track the same contact across multiple apps automatically.

    As a minor note, be also aware that in some countries (e.g. those complying to GDPR, etc.) the decision of being tracked is given by the contacts themselves, and it might change for each application given the purpose and scope of the consent given by the contact. It would be the customer's responsibility to comply with these regulations.
