Range Week

ReportReport

I'm learning how to add cues in the Home  page in AX.

If I use a task list with e.g. Sales lines, I would like to filter only the lines created this week (the first day is Monday) and then add a cue.

I'm using a temporary solution with cues for every weekday, e.g. (dayRange(-3,0)) for Wednesday, (dayRange(-2,0)) for Tuesday and so on...

Which one Range should I use with only a cue?

    Hi CarlosGo,

    If you run the report on a daily basis why do you need the day range function?

    Can't you just run the report every night for the current day?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

    you may want  to try following function

    (greaterThanDate(-7))

    Please note that you can pass any number instead of -7 ; To test run the following job please. also note that you can create as many functions as you want in class named SysQueryRangeUtil and you can use those.

    static void TestGreaterThanDate(Args _args)
    {
        setPrefix(strFmt('Today is %1',today()));

        setPrefix('Greater than today');
        info((SysQueryRangeUtil::greaterThanUtcDate(0)));

        setPrefix('Greater than today minus 7 days [anything greater than last week]');
        info((SysQueryRangeUtil::greaterThanUtcDate(-7)));

    }

    Sorry,

    I see now than the cue doesn't show what I want to see.

    I want to see the amount THIS week, not 7 days back. I don't know how to combine your solutions.

    Hi CarlosGo,

    If you run the report every Friday and use (dayRange(-5,0)) then you should get the data for this working week.

    Wouldn't that fix the issue?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi, thank you for your answer.

    Of course it's a solution. Indeed, I have a cue  in the Activities for every day: one for Monday (-1), one for Tuesday (-2), and so on. It means e.g. the the amount on Tuesday is no longer actual on Tuesday. And it doesn't matter for me. But the Key Accounts want to see an update amount every day as a cue in the Activities without efforces :(

    Hello CarlosGo,

    Have you thought about using the AX2012 standard cubes?

    If you are mainly interested in sales related data the standard sales cube should contain all that information.

    If you create - for example - an excel based report based on that cube and process, that is update, the cube every day overnight, your managers should get the most current data every morning.

    Please have a look at the following sites that explain a bit more about the standard cubes

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dd252604.aspx

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dd309683.aspx

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

    Yes, we use a sales cube (and other cubes as well), to report and follow the sales management. I use mostly the inventory cube, but I will try to create a report in the sales cube as I want to share with the other managers.

    But I prefer AX. The cues in the  Activities in Home give me a general view without details and I can create and share cues. If I want to see more information, I'm able to get it and process it.

    In this case, a cue with an amount for every weekday is good enough.

    Thank you for your suggestions!
