MR reporter QTD and whole Quarter for current period

Hi all

I have realized QTD due to this article .

it was very helpful.

But i have some issue.

for example I need for current month August to display

Q3 ytd, Q2, Q1

but i can display only

Q3 ytd, Q3, Q2, Q1

Could you help me to fix this issue?

Can't you simply make Q3 non-printed or alternatively to some calculations with non-printed columns?

Sometimes I need this column Q3 be visible. For example when i build report for Q4.

Hi Anna,

Can you explain why you did this kind of complex setup that you shared in your previous screenprint and why you need the column Q3 sometimes.

I don't understand this setup and requirement because creating a report for Q3 YTD, Q2 and Q1 illustrated in different columns does not require such a comprehensive setup in my opinion.

Would be great if you could explain why the setup has been made in this way and why you sometimes need the Q3 column.

This report is used for all quarters of year.

we need to calculate amounts for current Quarter as from beginning date of Quarter to current date and previous quarters as whole quarters.

Examples:

If i build report for February, current quarter is Q1. I need in my report to be displayed: Q1 as QTD( January, February)

If i build report for May, current quarter is Q2. I need in my report to be displayed: Q1 (January, February, March ) and Q2 QTD ( April May)

If i build report for July, current quarter is Q3.I need in my report to be displayed: Q1 (January, February, March ) and Q2 (April, May, June),and Q3 QTD ( July )

If i build report for October, current quarter is Q4.I need in my report to be displayed: Q1 (January, February, March ) and Q2 (April, May,June),Q3 (July, August, September)and Q4 QTD ( October)

If i build report for December, current quarter is Q4. i need Q1 (January, February, March ) and Q2 (April, May, June),Q3 (July, August, September)and Q4 QTD ( October, November, December)

So i need different logic for calculation each quarter depending on if it current one or not current one..

it seems to me ,that i found solution.

this example is helpful

i made according it, and my report seems t o work correctly

My previous approach is helpful if you need to see one quarter from last year depending of month of current year. it is continuation of my current report
