Hi all,

please I need help in this problem , everytime I try to post the purchase order it gives me this error .

Item : XXX

Serial number already exists physically in the inventory .

Any Solutions ?

Hello Sarahx99,

Can you provide us some additional information on your system setup and process? That is, does every item that you purchase get a new serial number? Have you selected a wrong one? How is the serial number control setup? Have you already registered the item and recorded the packing slip?

Would be great if you could let us know.

Please fix your tags. They say that your version of AX is AX 7 ("current version") and then you also have a tag [tag:ax] #2012. If you version is AX 2012, change "current version" to AX 2012 and delete the [tag:ax] #2012 tag. If it's AX 7, delete [tag:ax] #2012. Please don't use # signs for tags, they're not used/needed/desired here.

Dear Sarahx99,

I think you are getting this error while doing inventory registration/receiving. And your item is serial number controlled. And the serial number you are selecting is already assigned to an item as inventory stock.

So I would suggest please create a new serial number and register with new serial number and complete the receiving.

when I go to the "Registration" of the item I found more than one SN ? Can I delete the specified one?

Hi Sarahx99,

If you select the purchase order line button and then select dimension display you should be able to identify the serial number field that allows you selecting the number required.

To identify and possibly delete serial numbers go to inventory management - inquiries - dimensions - serial numbers.
