Is anyone else getting blocked from this site? I had one computer at the office this week that can no longer get to this site. All you get is page cannot be displayed. All other computers are fine. Now one of my computers at home has the same problem. Eventually I will run out of computers. I have flushed DNS and rebooted and still cannot get to this site. I can ping this site from all computers but IE will no longer land on it.

I have discovered that none of my Vista or W7 computers can get to this site. When I run a tracert it gets blocked at the second to last hop. There is a request timed out message and then that is all. None of my XP or Windows Server 2003 are affected. Does anyone know of any setting in Vista or W7 that cab be set to get it to wait a little longer before timing out? Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I can only assume it is being caused by some recently loaded Windows update as I did not have this problem prior to last week.

I couldn't get to the site yesterday - Internet Explorer couldn't find the site - but today its grand.

Don't know if its related to your issue.

    Ian.

No, none of my Vista or W7 computers can get to this site so now I have go back to the old XP computers my kids still use and an old POS computer still running RMS. Is there a moderator for this site that can look into this?

    Hey Richard,

I just had the same problem with one of my machines (Windows 7x64 laptop) yet at the same time, my other machines (Windows Sever 2008) could get to the site with no problem. I tried everything that you described with no success. Out of desperation, I did a ping of the address community.dynamics.com from a machine that did work and got the IP address (note: all request timed out, but do not worry about that). On the machine that did not work I opened IE and entered http://<IP Address> and got a page about not being authorized to the site from that host (sorry I do not remember the exact message) but it did give me a chance to login with my Windows Live ID. I entered my Windows Live ID and there was the site again. Restarted the computer and tried IE again and I am still able to get to the site with no problem.

    Hope this helps,

    John

What I have discovered is it has trouble getting to the Window Login page. What started it was clicking on the little box about 'Login me in automatically' DO NOT CLICK THAT box. I was able to get back on by deleteing all cookies and then unclikng that box. As long as I do not clikck that box I am able to get to the login screen where I can then continue normally.

That is most interesting, as I never click that box. In fact, I go to great strides to make sure it, as well as any remember my ID or remember my password boxes are unchecked. I wonder what is going on here. What happened when you tried to go directly to the IP address in IE rather than using community.dynamics.com?

I could always tell it was not going to work because above the address line you would see the addresses to which it was trying go caused it to blink. It made no difference whether I used the name or the IP address. The same was true when I would run  tracert. It was that second to last hop where it would fail.

IE is a little finicky.  I had a secure site I visited for months from IE7.  Then all of a sudden, one day I could no longer login.  I have no idea why.  I cleared all cookies, etc, etc and still could not get in.  I finally downloaded Firefox and voila - I was able to login with no problem.  Windows, Windows Live, IE - grrrrrrrrr at times.

I have always laughed at the expression of WYSIWYG. Usually it is more like let's hope you get what you want but don't be surprised if you are lead into unchartered waters. That was one good thing about DOS, you knew exactly what you were gettng.
