When do Power BI visualizations refresh on Model-driven Dashboard?

About Power BI embedded dashboards and tiles, when added in D365 Dashboards: 

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/user/add-powerbi-dashboards

Do you need to click on the "Refresh" button in order to display data? (So, refresh on-demand or scheduled. But it isn't a real-time solution)

Or do Power BI visualizations update automatically when the Model-driven App window loads? (So real-time dashboard)

 

MS is not clear on its docs!
