Hi Roberto,
The work order type is used to manage the type of work so the mobile device knows what to do per work class.
got it, but is there an explanation for each of them?
You can check the standard demo environment for the type that are used. Each type represents the process to handle pick and put actions. So there is e.g. Sales orders (work related to sales order picking), Purchase orders (work related to Purchase receipts) etc. AX then knows what module is used and which tables needs to be updated.
Can you indicate which types you don't understand?
I'm studying exactly on it. b.i. for outbound there are:1) Sales2) So pick3) SO loadeach of them are related to "Sales ORder" Work order type.
What all this work order type do?
Furthermore, why are there 3 work class where the only difference is "Valid put location type"?
I do undestand your question now. The system caters for multiple purposes. The Work class is used on a mobile device menu. You can differenciate having multiple menus for different people. So e.g. it is possible that one person will have the "SO load" and another person the "SO pick" action. The location type can be used to manage the put direction. So it will not be possible to put picked items on another picking location. But from the put, you have to find a bulk or pick location.
If you have the process on refill picking locations at product receipts and then fill the bulk, you can specifiy 'Picking' and 'Bulk' location types.
But if the process is at receiving all items needs to go to the bulk and a replenishment will be used to refill picking locations, you can set only 'Bulk' as location type.
Also some locations might require special equipment like a forklift. If you want to have a menu for a worker with a cart and a worker with a forklift, you can also create multiple work classes with possible also the location type to ensure the worker with the cart will not be directed to a location which needs a lift.
Does this help you in understanding? If not please specify your questions again.
