Subcontracting Worksheet using multiple batches

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody faced this problem.

I have a customer doing a lot of production, but all of it with subcontracting.

As there are multiple people planning the subcontracting, we started using a worksheet per user.

When I have 2 sheets, I can calculate the same subcontracting in both sheets, and I can create purchase orders from both sheets. The result is of course having to much purchase orders.

I would have expected a behaviour as in the planning worksheet. When you do a calculation, and a line for that item already exists in another sheet, it is deleted.

anyone faced this problem ?

    Hi ,

Indeed, I had the scenario you describe a few times also. but in this case, each of the users have their own items to plan, but they use the same subcontractors.

The main issue is that when 2 users calculate the same production order in their own worksheet, they both can create a purchase order for it.

I think I will have to do a modification in the calculation report, so they can filter on the production order lines.

    Regards,

    Francis

    Hi,

We had a same scenario in one of my previous implementation. There are 4 planners who are doing subcontracting planning and creating the purchase order but all are having different roles (means they are allocated with the different vendors and processes) so there is no single subcontracting operation handled by two people.

We have created different work centers according to it and assigned in the routing. we suggest them to filter the work center code while running the subcontracting worksheet so existing line will not get deleted since it is not related to them.

I hope this can work for you also.

    Regards,

    Hi,

Was there any customization for using the worksheet per user?

    Best Regards,
