Developing in parallel best approach

Hello Community,

We are about to start implementing the sales process in our crm, we will customize the lead, opportunity, business process flow as well as all other related entities.

This project is planned for the next few months, and certainly the other part of the team will be working at the same time on fixing bugs and fulfilling user change requests for the other fields in the crm.

I wonder how we can work in parallel without conflicts and avoiding the risks of carrying out continuous changes to production.

We have already thought about a separate environment, but we are afraid that at the end of the developments we will have a gap between this environment and the production.

please any recommendations from previous experiences?

PS: deployment is currently a mess, we literally use one solution per feature.
