Error, while creating an Enterprise portal site from Sharepoint central administration.

Hi,

I have created a new web application using Sharepoint central administration (http://testdev). After that I am trying to create a new Enterprise portal site using Create Site collection option under Sharepoint Central administration. I am mentioning the web application I created earlier, but when I click OK I am getting the following error message:

The Web site http://testdev was not created correctly. The remote name could not be resolved: 'testdev'

  at Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Portal.Deployment.EPFeatureReceiver.ProcessAxSiteCreationAsBCProxyUser(SPWeb site, Boolean isEPHomeSite)

  at Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Portal.Deployment.EPFeatureReceiver.ProvisionAxSite(SPWeb site).

Can anyone please let me know how to resolve this error?

    Hi ,

    I think you trying to create under the Default website 80 port , please check the default port is running, after you installed the sharepoint it will create a new site with the name sharepoint-80 with the port number 80.

    You can try to create a new web application with different port number and accordingly create a new site collection for the created web application.

    Then during EP installation select the newly created site and then click install.

    It seems as if there is some issue with the business proxy account

    may be business account is not specified as the system account in system Administration module in dynamics AX

    Check the Application pool of the site whether it is running or not.

    Hi Rudra,

    There are two sites already created on port 80 and I'd created the third one on port 80.

    So I don't think it is a problem. The BC account is specified correctly and it it's mentioned in system service account in dynamics AX.

    As said please try to create a new web application with a different port number and site collection for that, please try this and let me know.

    When you create your Web Application , don't give it  a Host Header name

    Hi All,

    I tried to create a new enterprise portal with a new port (I use port 8800). I successfully create a new web application but I can't create a new site collection. Below is the error.

    The Web site rhi-axepdev/.../DynamicsAXEP was not created correctly.

    Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'.
    The request failed with the error message:

    I just ran into the same exact error. This is an all in one test server (AOS, SQL, AX client etc.) I installed SharePoint as SharePoint Admin (SPADMIN).  I then added SPAdmin as a user in AX with system admin role thinking this permission should suffice.  I then installed EP using the same account - the above error manifested during the creation of the EP site. I then looked at the dynamicssetuplog.txt file (in a folder similar to this - :\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Setup Logs\DATE TIME) and saw this error message.

    Error: The Web site http://axtest/sites/DynamicsAx was not created correctly. The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

    So, I tried installing EP using my AX Admin account (log off the machine and login as AXAdmin) - the EP site created successfully.
