Installation of Dynamics NAV on two Servers (Connection cannot be established)

Hello There

I have a basic question, but I do need an answer for it.

I have installed SQL Server on a server, which is supposed to be the database server for Dynamics NAV. On another server, I have installed all NAV components including (Server, Administration, Development, and windows client)

When I open the NAV client from the NAV Server, it gives a connection problem and doesn't start as shown below:

Just to be ensure that it is not an issue with the installation, I have installed the window client on the same database server, and it worked like a charm !

I have turned off the firewall, and ensured that the service is running, restarted the server. But still, I can not open NAV client on the NAV Server.

Any help ?

Are both server in same domain ?

If yes then have you given db owner permission to the service account that is running the service ?

If not then create trust in both the server and try.

    Hi ,

Just send your correct NAV Server Address & port on your windows client Sever address menu

Run the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Administration Tool and check how NAV Server instance is been configured.

Whether it is running, to which Server, Database and Port it is been linked.

Also check for the Event Log for any errors noted there.

    Hi A. Saf,

    For  Windows Client Installation,

EX .. SQl Server IP 192.168.0.2 OR (SqlServer)

Navision Install IP (192.168.0.3) Server OR Server name (Navision)

For windows Client Installation Using  this ip (192.168.0.3) not this (192.168.0.2).

You Directly going ClientUserSetting.config File and Change the Server Name.

    i think  It's Work.

    Regards,

    Jeet Patadiya

Check the event viewer for any error log. As well as check with the IP instead of computer name.

    Hi

    Check the below.

    1. check the Url client trying to access on NAV server (may be accessing different url)

    2. Do ping Test of Database server ip on NAV server

    3. check the event log
