Account number strange issue in GP

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

i have configured all the account with respective cards initially.

today, during transaction, the Account missing error occurs.

i check the distribution appears blank.

then i open all the cards, mapped accounts are missing.

then i check with saved transactions(in sales, purchase, inventory), there also distribution appears blank.

then i open the Account card and i dint find the account and the lookup appears as blank.

when i run the query the account number exists. what may cause this issue?

it is fixed?

Finally it is not an issue and it is mainly used to activate & inactivate account-level security.

once it activate, above scenario occurs for non-sa users.

when i try run the check links, i have greeted with the alert as

You must have unlimited Account access to open this window

i was able to find the route cause for this. After referring Daoud forum, i found the solution.

i have checked Security & Account security options in company setup.

after un-checking the both options, after login i'm able to access all the accounts in the particular company.

Thanks for all your valuable suggestions.

Did  you logged into the proper SQL server instance?

Can you double the logged in GP instance and the SQL server instance both are same?

Here is what I would suggest:

    1) Make a backup

    2) In SSMS  DELETE GL00105 AND GL40200

    3) Run checklinks on Financial Series(specifically Account Master)

This will repopulate the GL00105 and GL40200 tables based on what exists in the GL00100 table. Do this while no one is in GP and you can restore from backup, if necessary.

I am just trying to figure any related pattern .

Have you tried to run reconcile on the financial module along with check links ... just for a try !

Let's see what the Profiler will bring ..

    Hi Saadi,

I have checked the backed tables what you have mentioned, the data still exist.

when running the Smart list the records are appeared as empty.

    Hello Natrajan,

For me, that absolutely have no proper justification.

Let me break down the issue into pieces. Starting with account maintenance window, you must have checked the general ledger master tables (GL00100, GL00102 ..), if these tables have accounts then the data should be retrieved to the account maintenance window.

I believe we could start from here and then move on to the assignment issue which seems more of a logical result since the accounts are not showing.

I would be so curious to look for what's being retrieved on the SQL Profiler level when you just open the lookup button on the Account maintenance window.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
