Event management / set up

Hi,

My company just started to use D365.  We are setting up our conferences in Dynamics, including registration function (switching from Cvent).  We were told that we cannot set up promo codes in Dynamics.  Is it accurate?

Thanks

    Hi Sasha,

Currently we can allocate pass for an event, so you could create multiple type passes with different price:

such as early bird price or normal price for event attendees.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/set-up-event#set-up-event-passes

You could also take following option as alternative to promo code function:

    1. Create a custom field "promo code" on reigstration form

    2. Find contacts who have correct promo code value via event registration record,

then give corrensponding contacts other pass with discount price.

Thanks Clofly.  That's exactly right - we would set up different promo codes that will give discounts to attendees when they register for the event.

So if this function is not available in D365, how do company who use D365 for event management and registration handle this problem?

    Thank you,

    Sasha

    Hi Sasha,

Could you let me know what your "conferences" and "promo codes" mean?

As per my understanding, "conferences" could be related to Event management  in D365 because the Event also has registration function.

So would "promo codes" mean that when you create pass for an event, then user could get a discount price after apply a promo code in a textbox?

(I found a link about promo code in Cvent forum: https://support.cvent.com/apex/CommunityArticle?id=000002456)

If so, currently there is no such function in Event management in D365.

    Regards,

    Clofly
